Bakan Koca: SMA hastalarında ikinci ilacın kullanımı için işlemleri başlattık

Sağlık Bakanı Fahrettin Koca, "SMA Bilim Kurulu, SMA hastalarında etkisini göstermiş ikinci bir ilacın kullanımını önerdi. Bu ilacın kullanımı için gerekli işlemleri başlattık" dedi.

Sağlık Bakanı Koca, 24 Kasım'da Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi (TBMM) Plan Bütçe Komisyonu'nda, milletvekillerinin SMA tedavisine ilişkin sorularına verdiği yanıtları kapsayan videoyu Twitter'daki hesabından paylaştı. Bakan Koca, "SMA Bilim Kurulu, SMA hastalarında etkisini göstermiş ikinci bir ilacın kullanımını önerdi. Bu ilacın kullanımı için gerekli işlemleri başlattık. Kurul, tedavideki etkinliğinde yeterli kanıt olmayan bir diğer ilacınsa uygulamaya alınmasını gerekli görmedi" notuyla paylaştığı videoda, son derece hassas konudan bahsedildiğinin altını çizerek, şunları söyledi:

"Öncelikle bu konu kesinlikle bir ödeme sorunu değildir. 1000'den fazla SMA hastamız var ve tedavilerini etkinliğini ispat etmiş ilaçla masraflarının tamamını devletimiz karşılayacak şekilde kullanıyoruz. Bunun mali bir konu olmadığını şu şekilde izah edeyim. Türkiye'de toplam 250 hastası olan, başka 2 nadir hastalıkta kullanılan, sadece 2 enzim türü için yıllık SMA hastaları için ödenen toplam miktarın 2 katı ödeme yapıyoruz. Rakamları söylemek istemiyorum. Peki sorun nerede? 'Zolgensma' isimli gen tedavisinin ödeme kapmasında olmaması. Bahse konu olan tedavinin etkinliğini, SMA Bilim Kurulumuz değerlendiriyor. Bu Bilim Kurulu, fakültelerimizin ve sahada özellikle hastaları tedavi eden hocalarımızdan oluşan bir bilim kurulu. SMA Bilim Kurulumuz, SMA hastası çocuklarımızın tedavisini üstlenen bilim insanlarından oluşuyor. Bilim Kurulu, tedavinin etkinliğiyle ilgili yeterli kanıt olmadığı gerekçesiyle şimdilik uygulamaya alınmasının bir gereklilik olmadığını ifade etti. Kaldı ki üretici, belirtisi olmayan hastalara bu tedavinin uygulanmasını zaten önermiyor." 

'ÇOCUKLARIMIZIN DENEK OLARAK KULLANILMASINA İZİN VERMEYİZ'

Bilim Kurulu'nun SMA hastalığıyla isabetli kararlar verdiğini kaydeden Koca, "Bu süreçte Bilim Kurulumuzun ne kadar isabetli karar verdiğini gösteren yakın zamanda bir gelişme oldu. Nature dergisinde yayınlanan çalışmadan referansla bu tedavi ruhsatlandı. Geçen haftalarda bu çalışmanın birçok hata içerdiği, sonuçların çalışmada beyan edildiği gibi olmadığı ortaya çıktı. Özetle etkisi hakkında net bir kanıt bulunmayan bir tedaviden bahsediyoruz. Konu bir mali konu değildir. Etkisi kanıtlanmış bir tedaviyi uygulamaya hazırız. Ancak daha önce de ifade ettiğim gibi çocuklarımızın denek olarak kullanılmasına izin vermedik, vermeyiz. Bu konuyu mali bir konu haline getirenler duygu tacirleridir. Bu hiçbir yanı temiz olmayan pazarlama tekniği, insanların temiz hisleriyle başlattıkları kampanyaları kirleten yine bu duygu tüccarlarıdır; yani geri planda firmadır" dedi.

Bilim Kurulu'nun SMA hastalığında başka bir ilacın daha kullanılmasını önerdiğini söyleyen Koca, "Mevcut ilacın kullanım zorluğu olan durumlar için Bilim Kurulumuz bir başka ilaç olan, oral kullanımı olan yine etkisini göstermiş 2'nci bir ilacın daha kullanımını önerdi. Bu ilaç için de yine kullanıma alınmak üzere işlemleri başlattık. Gen tedavisinin etkilerinin bilimsel kanıtları ortaya çıktığında ve Bilim Kurulumuz tavsiye ettiğinde, onu da uygulamaktan geri durmayız. Yavrularımızın bir nefesi için etkisi kanıtlanmış her ilacı, her tedaviyi kullanmaya hazır olduğumuzu bilmenizi isterim" diye konuştu.
