Türkiye ve dünyada her geçen gün artan aşı reddi ile ilgili değerlendirmede bulunan Çocuk Hastalıkları Uzmanı Yasin Doğrusoy, aşılama oranının düşmesi durumunda çocuk felci ve kızamık hastalıkları başta olmak üzere birçok hastalık oranında da artış yaşanacağına dikkat çekti.

Bitlis’in Tatvan ilçesindeki Özel Can Hastanesi Çocuk Hastalıkları Uzmanı Yasin Doğrusoy, tüm dünyada 2019 yılının ilk 8 ayında 364 bin 808 kızamık olgusu bildirildiğini ve bu sayının 2018’in aynı döneminde 129 bin civarında olduğunu belirterek, “Bu artış tıp dünyası için alarm zillerinin çalınmasına neden oldu” dedi.

Artan aşı reddinin, bireysel bir tercih olsa da aslında toplum sağlığını doğrudan etkilediğine değinen Doğrusoy, “Aşılanmamış her bebek, topluma salgın hastalıkları yayma riski taşıyor. Bulaşıcı hastalıklar, asırlar boyunca insanlığın gündeminde yer almış ve almaya devam etmektedir. İnsanların kitlesel biçimde hastalanmasına ve ölümüne yol açan bu hastalıklarla mücadele, sağlık politikalarının ve sağlık alanındaki araştırmaların her zaman önemli bir gündemini oluşturmuştur. Korunmaya yönelik geliştirilen yöntem ve teknikler hızla ve somut olarak hastalıklarla mücadele edebilmenin araçları olmuştur. Bu kapsamda aşılar, hem koruyucu sağlık hizmetlerinin en önemli simgelerinden hem de yirminci yüzyılın en önemli halk sağlığı kazanımlarından birisidir. Aşılar, çocuk ölümlerini azaltma aracı olarak önerilmesinden bu yana etkili bir biçimde beklentileri gerçekleştirmişlerdir. UNICEFverilerine göre aşı ile önlenebilir altı hastalık (boğmaca, difteri, tetanos, kızamık, çocuk felci, verem) nedeniyle olan çocuk ölümlerinin sayısı 1989’da 5 milyon dolayında iken, bugün bu altı hastalıktan ölüm yılda yalnızca 100 bin dolayındadır” dedi.

Aşının sağlık açısından önemine dikkat çeken Doğrusoy, “Ülkemizde ve dünyada aşı karşıtlarının sayısı gün geçtikçe artıyor. Bu durum hem toplum sağlığı hem de geleceğimiz açısından önemli riskler içermektedir. Yakın zamana kadar birçok hastalık aşılar sayesinde yok oldu. Aşı reddi ile kızamık hastalığının yaygınlaşma, çocuk felci gibi hastalıkların tekrar ortaya çıkma riskleri taşımaktadır. Aileler yalnızca kendi ve çocuklarının sağlığını tehlikeye atmıyor, çevrelerdeki insanlar için de büyük bir tehlike oluşturuyorlar. Her ailenin çocuklarının aşılanması konusunda duyarlı olması gerekiyor. Tüm dünyada 2019 yılının ilk sekiz ayında 364 bin 808 kızamık olgusu bildirildi, bu sayı 2018’in aynı döneminde 129 bin civarındaydı. Bu artış tıp dünyası için alarm zillerinin çalınmasına neden oldu.
